Hindrances to an Open Heaven: Overcoming Obstacles to Spiritual Growth

Image
In our previous post, we explored the concept of an Open Heaven and how it can bring God's favor, provision, and blessing into our lives. However, as we seek to experience an Open Heaven, we may encounter hindrances that can block our spiritual growth and progress. In this post, we'll examine some common obstacles that can hinder an Open Heaven and provide practical guidance on how to overcome them. Hindrance #1: Unforgiveness and Bitterness Unforgiveness and bitterness can create a spiritual barrier that prevents us from experiencing an Open Heaven. When we harbor resentment and anger towards others, it can lead to a hardened heart and a closed spirit. Solution: Let go of unforgiveness and bitterness by choosing to forgive those who have wronged you. Pray for God to heal your emotional wounds and restore your relationships. Hindrance #2: Sin and Rebellion Sin and rebellion can separate us from God and prevent us from experiencing an Open Heaven. When we deliberately choose t...

The Blessings of an Open Heaven: Unlocking God's Favor and Provision

Image
As believers, we often pray for God's blessings and favor in our lives. But have you ever stopped to think about what it means to have an "open heaven" over your life? In this blog post, we'll explore the biblical concept of an open heaven and how it can unlock God's favor and provision in your life. What is an Open Heaven? The concept of an open heaven is rooted in the Bible, where we see numerous examples of God opening the heavens to bless His people. In Genesis 28:12-17, Jacob had a vision of a ladder stretching from earth to heaven, with angels ascending and descending. This vision represented an open heaven, where God was pouring out His blessings and favor upon Jacob. Similarly, in Isaiah 64:1, the prophet cries out to God, "Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you!" This passage illustrates the idea of an open heaven, where God's power and presence are poured out upon His people. The Bless...

Accessing the Throne Room: Understanding the Power of Prayer

Image
In the book of Hebrews, we are encouraged to "come boldly to the throne of our gracious God" (Hebrews 4:16, NLT). This verse paints a vivid picture of the throne room of heaven, where God sits in majesty and power. But how do we access this throne room? The answer lies in the power of prayer. The Throne Room: A Place of Intimacy and Access In the Old Testament, the throne room was a sacred space where only the high priest could enter, and only once a year, on the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 16:1-34). However, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have been given access to the throne room of heaven. In Hebrews 10:19-22, we read: "And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven's Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God's house, let us go right into the presence of God with s...

Open Heaven: Unlocking the Gates of Divine Encounter

Image
The concept of an "Open Heaven" is deeply rooted in biblical tradition, where it signifies a realm of unprecedented divine encounter, supernatural provision, and unbridled blessing. It is a state of spiritual alignment where the veil between heaven and earth is lifted, and the believer is granted unhindered access to the throne room of God. In the book of Revelation, Jesus Christ declares, "Behold, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it" (Revelation 3:8). This "open door" represents a portal to the very presence of God, where prayers are answered, miracles are wrought, and lives are transformed. Throughout scripture, we see examples of men and women who experienced an Open Heaven, including Jacob, who wrestled with God and received a new name (Genesis 32:24-32); Moses, who encountered the burning bush and received a divine commission (Exodus 3:1-15); and the apostle Paul, who was caught up to the third heaven and received revelations ...

APOSTASY

Image
When we are talking about the word APOSTASY what is the meaning? The word in Greek " apostasia " means renouncing of faith. "Apostasy" is a term that refers to someone who has renounced their religious faith or beliefs. It can also refer to a religious movement that has rejected its original beliefs. For example, a person who was raised in a particular religion but later decided to leave that faith would be considered an apostate. Or, a religious movement that started out with one set of beliefs but later changed or abandoned those beliefs would also be considered apostasy. So, the basic meaning of apostasy is to abandon or renounce a religious faith.  In Christianity, apostasy is generally understood as the rejection of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Bible. This can include leaving the faith entirely or turning to other religions or belief systems. The Bible itself warns against apostasy, and there are several verses that address this issue. For...

What does it mean to take the Lord's name in vain?

Image
Although many people believe taking the Lord’s name in vain refers to using the Lord’s name as a swear word, there is much more involved with a vain use of God’s name. To understand the severity of taking the Lord’s name in vain, we must first see the Lord’s name from His perspective as outlined in Scripture. The God of Israel was known by many names and titles, but the concept embodied in God’s name plays an important and unique role in the Bible. God’s nature and attributes, the totality of His being, and especially His glory are reflected in His name ( Psalm 8:1 ).  Psalm 111:9  tells us His name is “holy and awesome,” and the Lord’s prayer begins by addressing God with the phrase “hallowed be your name” ( Matthew 6:9 ), an indication that a reverence for God and His name should be foremost in our prayers. Too often we barge into God’s presence with presumptuous “to-do lists” for Him, without being mindful of His holiness, His awesomeness, and the vast chasm that separates ...
